A free, browser-based tool that takes the guesswork out of designing 12V electrical systems for campers, boats, and off-grid setups.
VoltPlan lets anyone plan a 12V, 24V, or 48V electrical system without an electrical engineering background. Pick a template — camper van, boat, or off-grid cabin — add components from a built-in library, and VoltPlan generates a complete wiring diagram with correct wire sizing, fuse ratings, and solar panel configurations. It works entirely in the browser, is free for personal use, and needs no account to get started. A companion iOS app, Cable by VoltPlan, does the same cable-sizing math on your phone at the workbench, and an MCP server lets AI assistants like Claude and Cursor generate diagrams and run the same calculations on a user's behalf.
VoltPlan is built and operated by YuzuHub UG (haftungsbeschränkt), a small software company based in Düsseldorf, Germany, founded in 2025 by Stefan Lange-Hegermann and Verena Wanner. Full legal and registration details are published in the Impressum.
Generic diagramming tools like draw.io or Lucidchart let you draw shapes and lines but have no understanding of electrical relationships. VoltPlan is purpose-built for DC electrical systems: it knows which components need to be connected, calculates wire gauge and fuse ratings automatically, and validates that a system is safe and complete before it's built.
