Safety notes for this component
- Connect the battery before the PV array. The controller reads battery voltage to pick its 12 V or 24 V system setting, and powering it from PV alone can leave it mis-detected.
- Fuse the battery cable close to the battery positive terminal, sized for the 30 A charge current and the cable you actually fitted.
- Check array Voc at your coldest expected temperature. Cold derating raises open-circuit voltage, so a string that measures well under 100 V in summer can exceed the limit on a cold clear morning.
- Not ignition protected. Do not mount it in a compartment that holds petrol or propane.
